The MartinFarm.com
website is a production of Tim Martin with contributions from others
in both my immediate and extended families. It is meant as a source
of information first of all. A place where we can get together and see
what is going on in the family. Secondly, it is a place of history.
By keeping the site over the years, I will have sort of a journal in
both pictures and words to show me where we have been and maybe a little
about where we are going.
My
family consist of my wife, Joy,
who is one of the busiest people that I know. She is currently finishing
up her BSN, so hopefully that part will soon be behind her. She also
works full time as a nurse manager at FirstHealth of the Carolinas,
which is a pretty hefty job in itself. On top of that, she is married
to a very difficult and needy husband, almost more than she can bear
at times. And finally, the mother to three children, each of them right
now in their most difficult stage! She is an amazing women who both
frustrates me and awes me at the same time. She would tell you that
it is mostly frustration but I am telling you that it is nearly all
admiration.
My
eldest child is Brittney,
who is now 15. She is driving with a learner's permit now, and working
a part time job. She takes piano lessons and is involved in the church.
She is also very active, both in and out of school. Are you beginning
to see a trend here? Brittney makes great grades in school (Distinguished
List!), and as far as I can tell, she is a good employee. She has lots
of friends and seems to be a good friend to others. I am both proud
of her and fond of her. She is a good daughter!
Danielle
is the middle child in every way. She sometimes gets lost in the shuffle
and often ignored. Because of this, she is developing in a very independent
way. She does not care a great deal for fashion or what other people
think of her. She dresses brightly and has no fear. There is not a shy
bone in her body. Danielle is sweet and thoughtful. She also does well
in school, making the honor roll this semester. She takes Piano lessons
and does very well, always drawing praise from her teachers. She is
involved in the church, recently being baptized
and competing in bible drill competition. Danielle is a real sweetie!
Finally,
there is Hunter,
the baby and the boy. He gets all the attention. He is smart and fun.
Mostly in a good mood and helpful. He loves to stay at home with me
and work on the farm, especially if it has to do with TRACTORS! Tractors
have been his favorite thing for as long as I can remember. He knows
more about tractors than almost anyone. And he is learning more everyday.
He just turned 4 and got a new lab puppy, Abby.
They are becoming good
friends, and I hope that continues.
And
then there is me,
the father and the webmaster. I am also a nurse at FirstHealth of the
Carolinas. I work in the CVT unit taking care of the open heart and
other surgical patients. As you may know, I really enjoy the computer
and the internet. I am taking classes at Sandhill's in the evening working
towards a degree in Internet Technologies. I also keep Beagles and hunt
rabbits with them. And we have a farm to keep up! So our life is very
busy all the way around. But I think that is the way that we like it.
